Two Blogs Become One

Now that Kaitlyn & Molly have joined the family, there blog joins with ours. We become one big happy family.

We might be a little slow, but we finally got pictures of all four kiddos together. The boys were so excited! I'll try and do this often as it's so darn cute. Here are a few more favorites from today as well.

42 Months---- 3 1/2 Years Old

Things have changed for the boys. They are now 3 1/2 years old. They are big brothers and have baby sisters. The boys that once seemed so little are now growing up and getting so independent and remain extremely active.

Joshua has started a new attitude which is not the best, but really cute. He ends every sentence with "hmph." For example, today he told me, "I want chcoolate milk and that's what I want...humph." While entirely cute, the attitude does not get him any bonus points. He also has decided he's too tired, too hungry, etc. to complete any given task. He is also becoming quite the singer. Finally I remembered to rotate the cd's in the car and he's enjoying some new music. He constantly asks for, "He's Got the Whole World in his Hands" and keeps up with the singing. It's so cute!

Thomas is active as ever. He is little Mr. Social. He wants to talk to everyone that he can possibly come into contact with and he's got lots to share. Not sure anyone can understand him as he gets rambling and talks so fast, but it's darn cute. He's currently obsessed with Chuck E. Cheese and will be your best friend if you take him there.

Sunshine Makes Us Happy!

It has been absolutely beautiful outside lately. We've really started to enjoy the parks again...HOORAY! One of our favorite parks has a sand volleyball pit. The boys LOVE it and it means I can sit and read and watch them play! Today we got home and I convinced Dan to give the boys a hose. They had a BLAST! Dan and I sat and laughed hysterically as they first poured cups of water on their toys, but eventually had a full-fledged water fight. Even better was Thomas getting Dan with a big cup of water. Even better is that playing outside and the heat gives us some great nap/rest times!

Joshua's allergies have perked up a bit for the last couple days. He was so tired a couple nights ago that he actually fell asleep during his breathing treatment. I thought it was so cute I had to take a picture. :)
**Blogger still won't let me flip pictures, but I wanted to add them, so this will have to do for now!

Happy Easter

Yup, I'm a little bit behind! We had a great, yet busy, Easter this year. The boys woke up to find their Easter baskets and a couple neat toys. Thomas thoroughly enjoys his new View Finder and Joshua makes tea for us frequently with his new tea set...and then they switch! The other hit of the Easter basket was that they each got a magnifying glass. It took a long time for them to get some momentum to start looking for eggs. Luckily I only hid 12, so the hunt was fast and easy. This might be the last year that they allow me to put one fruit snack in each egg and still get excited about it.
After all the fun festivities at home, Dan took the boys to his aunt and uncles for Easter brunch with the family. I took a nice long nap. The boys came home for rest time and then went up to Dan's folks for dinner. I again took a nice long nap. For me, a restful day. I can't even imagine what Easter will be like next year!
**Sorry, I have more pictures, but Blogger is closing every time I try to insert them. And the times it doesn't close on me it puts the pictures sideways. I'll try again with the next post.

Mixed Up

Tonight, Joshua decided to throw me for a loop while going to bed. Usually he is very particular about wanting his sheet and blankets spread FLAT across him. As I did that tonight, he started crying saying he wanted it "mixed up." He cried and cried. As Dan is the one doing bedtimes for the most part right now, and the fact that he wasn't home, I called him. Joshua meanwhile cried, "No, don't call daddy. Don't tell him I want it mixed up." I asked Dan what this meant and Dan had no idea. I was hoping that after just leaving the room, Joshua would give up and go to sleep. No such luck.

He then came out, "You no mix up my bed."
I said, "Joshua, I do not know what you want me to do. Show me what you need. Show me what mixed up means."
He replied, "I not know what mix up means. What it mean?"

I then balled up all the blankets and sheets on his bed and threw them on the center of the bed.

I said, "This is what 'mixed up' means. You just lay down and cover up with the blanket nearest to you."

He happily covered up and went to sleep.

How can I win when neither of us know what we're talking about?

Photography

A great area photographer, Jaidean Baker, will be doing some photos of the girls once they arrive. She's having a drawing for some gift certificates, and this is one way to enter. For all the friends that check the blog that aren't in the Mommy & Me Group, I suggest you check out her work. You might just decide she's the way to go! Here's a link to her website: http://www.jaideanbakerphotography.com/

Hello Spring!!!!

Today was the first day it has actually felt like spring. It was beautiful! While we were slow getting up we were still able to meet up with the Butterfields at Riverfront Park. The boys (and I) had an absolute blast. All the rides were open so we enjoyed the airplanes (which they were able to maneuver for the first time), the Octopus (with Jay), mini-golf, and of course, the carousel. It might be the last time I ride the carousel as I couldn't get far enough back in the saddle to not hit my tummy on the pole. :) After Riverfront Park, we even managed to get to Burlington Coat Factory to get the boys' new carseats. We spent the rest of the afternoon planting seeds for the garden, blowing bubbles, and visiting with family. What a great day!
