Most of our busy days are spent running from place to place. Naptime, snacks, diaper change, craft projects, the days are just so full. I wouldn't have it any other way!
And some days I am just proud to be a mama of four. Today we went to the Junior Livestock Show. I've taken the kids every year since the boys were born. The first year they cried, and every year since then it's been interesting to see what fascinates them. This year the girls LOVED the sheep. The 'baaaaa-ing' sent the girls into fits of giggles. The boys were disgusted by the smell of the pigs and fascinated by the size and quantity of poop that came from the animals. So funny!
After the stock show the children were complaining they would fade away without food. We stopped by McD's for some lunch. GenerallyI would just go through the drive through and convince them to make it home. However, I figured it was time to brave the idea of eating with all four kids (now mobile) on my own. It's quite the feat to carry each girl on a hip, order a meal, not lose the boys, and pay (paying might seem easy, but with no hands it's kind of a challenge). We not only managed to get our meals, but limited food was sent to the floor, all children ate, and we even talked! Can you believe it? I sat down and ate a meal with my children? Generally I'm running around getting milk, wiping up spills, appeasing babies, etc. This time, everyone was so well-behaved. I was sooooo thankful! And we managed to load back into the car and get home for a beautiful rest time. It's moments like these that I'm so proud of the boys. They could've been crazy, acted up, or just plain ran around the restaurant. But they didn't. And I'm one proud mama.
Let's see if we can keep it up during our run to Costco this afternoon!
